Celtic Cross Ranch - Traditionally pronounced with a "hard c", to match the "c" in Cross, the name reflects the Irish heritage of the Kelly family.
We are located in the heart of the short-grass prairie, just east of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The land has been in the Kelly family for almost 85 years, and Leon, Alvin, and Allen were raised here with ranching in their blood. This venture came about from a need to use the land without plowing it up into blow-dirt, and without the risk of over-grazing. With proper management, we want to show that it is possible to turn a profit from the land while preserving it's inherent value and improving the bloodlines of fine cattle. We also want to show America that beef, especially Texas Longhorn beef, can be part of a healthy diet, without sacrificing flavor.
Besides our cattle, we have a team of Belgian draft mares, several stock horses, some llamas, dogs, and cats! Kids and grandkids also abound!
